When Your Future Speaks: Time Shifts, Infinite Timelines, and the Eternal Now
What if your future self could send you a message? Not a hunch or a dream, but a lived experience shared between Present You and Future You? A point where the barriers between past and future dissolve and both versions of you are experiencing the same moment in time?
The Day My Future Self Interrupted My Kitchen Ramble
I was pacing my kitchen, leaving myself a voice note as a form of processing some recent insights. Mid-sentence, I had to pause as a strange sensation overcame me, and a clear message came through: “I see why it had to happen this way.”
I’m used to receiving messages from what you could call “my higher self”—a version of me with a consciousness beyond my current understanding; however, this self was not higher vertically in consciousness; she was farther along horizontally in time. The difference was distinctly temporal.
As someone who’s accustomed to receiving intuitive downloads, I was surprised at how this message wasn’t simply information. I was living my future self’s realization instead of receiving it. I only had my best guess as to what this could be referring to, and while I had my suspicions, I’ve learned by now to hold my human judgment until more of the story unfolds.
So, I catalogued this strange phenomenon in the back of my mind and proceeded to go about my day.
Two days later, I was standing in that kitchen again, pacing as I do, and as I started to understand a particular aspect of my journey—one saturated in delay, waiting, and frustration—I saw the hand of God at work and how the delay wasn’t a denial but a gift. With a grateful exhale, I said to myself, “I see why it had to happen this way.”
Then… I remembered.
WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO RECEIVE A MESSAGE ACROSS TIME
It might sound like science-fiction, but as I’ve sought to understand the true nature of time, my experience of it has also changed. I almost feel like I’m living the real-life experience of Dr. Louise Banks (Amy Adams) in Arrival, where I’m experiencing future moments in the present, and memories of past lives are bleeding through.
I’ve had moments of having words fly out of my mouth, and I don’t know why I would ever say them. I stop myself mid-sentence and ask, “Where did those come from?” But upon further investigation (Googling), I see that I’m actually quoting someone my soul knows but my conscious mind does not.
It’s strange. Surreal. And I truly wouldn’t expect anyone, let alone anyone operating from consensus reality consciousness, to believe me, but if you’re still with me, I suspect it’s for a reason, and just perhaps that reason is because part of you knows, on some level, this is all true—that there is more to time than we’ve been taught and more to reality than there seems to be.
What is Time? Divine Downloads on the Eternal Now and Infinite Timelines
Some disciplines of mathematics and physics define time as the fourth dimension. The direction of time is forward moving only, citing the law of thermodynamics and the way in which chaos in a closed system always increases. In human terms, you can scramble eggs (forward time movement = more disorder), but you can unscramble them (backward time movement = more order).
There’s the concept of objective vs. subjective time. Time watching your favorite TV show sure does seem to move differently than time sitting in the DMV, even if clock-time will tell you the same answer: it’s been 45 minutes.
Spiritual practices speak of the Eternal Now, the one divine moment in which everything occurs. Everything is happening everywhere at once in the mind of God. Practitioners of the Law of Assumption, for example, will say your manifestation is yours now because the only time is now—and the emphasis is to learn to perceive spacetime from divine consciousness instead of human consciousness and sensory processing.
So, amongst all these different theories of time, from the scientific to the experiential to the mystic, this is the download I received.
HOW INFINITE TIMELINES COEXIST
Time is like a massive yarnball of timelines that are interconnected, constantly splitting, branching off, reshaping themselves and creating more. Time is both entirely complete in and of itself, and it’s constantly expanding. It’s paradoxically both. All timelines are encapsulated together and happening at once in what the spiritual teachings of this reality call “The Eternal Now.”
Within a single timeline, there are infinite versions of that timeline. The best way I can illustrate this is with a principle in mathematics: The set of rational numbers between 0 and 1 is infinite. It might seem strange to think a set within a finite range can be infinite, but this is mathematically true. You can look it up and read the proof if you’re into that kind of thing.
So, within a single timeline (i.e., the range between 0 and 1 in this analogy), there are infinite timelines contained within that finite set. Did you choose to have eggs or pancakes for breakfast that morning? Did Candidate A or Candidate B win the election? Did you happen to turn left instead of right, and you ran into that old friend who then introduced you to your partner? All of these are infinite possibilities within a single framework of what we might identify as “this reality.”
However, beyond this one timeline, there are also infinite timelines, infinite realities. There’s the set of rational numbers between 0 and 1 as infinite timelines within one timeline, but there’s also the infinite sets that exist between -∞ and +∞. And it’s the folks reality shifting to Hogwarts and worlds completely unknown to this one who are accessing the wider range of infinite possibilities.
TIMELINE JUMPING, QUANTUM LEAPING, MANIFESTING, AND REALITY SHIFTING ARE ALL THE SAME… AND DIFFERENT
This is why manifesting and reality shifting feel the same but are also different. Manifesting = shifting timelines within an established familiar timeline (i.e., within the infinite possibilities between 0 and 1). Reality shifting = shifting timelines to an entirely different number range (i.e., moving from 0.5 to -5,000).
The mechanism that operates this “shift” is the same, however. And this is why people in Law of Assumption and reality shifting communities say manifesting and shifting are the same thing because the operating mechanism that shifts your consciousness within your established timeline or to a totally new one is the same:
Consciousness has the ability to sift through that infinite yarnball of timelines and potentials, what Neville Goddard referred to as “your own wonderful human imagination,” and when you claim one of those potentials as real, true, and yours—and you persist in that assumption whilst denying the senses—by LOA teachings, this assumption will harden into fact.
Everything is happening everywhere all at once vertically, and it’s unfolding horizontally to each individual point of consciousness as we move through the flipbook of frames of our singular experiences. The past, present, and future can communicate with each other, lines blurring, when you no longer categorize time according to linear barriers.
From Human Time to Cosmic Time: Living with Expanded Awareness
Experiencing expanded time consciousness isn’t reserved for a select few—it’s for all who are willing to seek growth with sincerity and, yes, discipline. The pathway to higher states is a simple one: maintaining an elevated state of consciousness above consensus reality conditioning. But of course, just because it’s simple, doesn’t make it an easy one to walk.
PRACTICAL WAYS TO ANCHOR EXPANDED AWARENESS
There are a few “methods” through which one can achieve these states—breathwork and meditation are two of my personal favorites. The limitation of relying on methods, however, is that expanded states can become a place to visit instead of live, and it’s easy to get caught in the loop of surfacing for air, experiencing breakthrough, then quickly finding yourself underwater again, and you’re scrambling to breach the surface.
So, to actually live from a place of expanded awareness around time—where you can have profound moments such as your future crossing over to your present—these are my general tips for sincere seekers.
One. Ask God to Understand Time from His Perspective
This was a prayer I hadn’t quite articulated as much as it just lived in my heart the past few years, and it was certainly granted in more expansive and beautiful ways I could have imagined. I know I still have a ways to go when it comes to my understanding and relationship with time, but my first recommendation for anyone on their own time traveler’s journey is to seek the divine with humility and sincerity.
In a world of manifestation advice that continually shouts how “you are God,” I found that I made the mistake of conflating my human ego with the divine. I know some people from the Law of Assumption sectors would call this a limiting belief—that there is not a difference between an ego desire or a soul desire or what have you. But that simply hasn’t been my individual lived experience.
I set the intention to understand time in divine ways, not to manifest faster or to get anything other than a closer relationship with God, and in my opinion, it’s that sincerity and humility that’s allowed the manifestation of expanded consciousness to bloom in ways my ego could never have manufactured.
Two. Maintain Exceptional Energetic Hygiene
Doubt spirals. Mental fog. Emotional wounding. Old conditioning. This is all the weight that clogs up our channels and makes clarity feel like a privilege instead of a birthright.
Clarity and oneness with God is your natural state, but if we get caught up in the world of senses—when we, as Dr. Joe Dispenza says, believe ourselves simply to be “matter influencing matter”—it’s challenging to believe in the impossible and supernatural, let alone experience it.
No, this isn’t to say you have to dedicate yourself to months of inner child healing or shadow work. This is just an invitation (and more truthfully, a requirement) to maintain diligent energetic hygiene if you want to make the breakthrough your new baseline, so you don’t get caught up in maya (illusion) over truth.
This looks like disengaging from mental dramas, rescue fantasies, and inner conversations that will never happen and to stop replaying emotional patterns that won’t serve you. Cord cutting, digital detoxes, and learning to recognize when you’re getting emotionally and energetically hooked in a situation that has nothing to do with you can also powerfully clear up your energetic body.
If you’ve been feeling foggy, pulled in too many directions, or unsure which timeline to choose, I’m creating something for you. The Clarity Cure, my free course on how to hold and sustain an expanded state of clarity, is coming soon—and you can join the waitlist here.
Three. Get Curious About How Different Thought Paradigms and Spiritual Practices Conceptualize Time
I’m someone who’s always been fascinated with multidisciplinary approaches. I switched from being an English major to a Math major halfway through undergrad. The cross-section between science and mysticism is especially fascinating to me, which is why I enjoy the work of researchers like Dr. Joe Dispenza.
Of course, you don’t have to be a math nerd like me who watches quantum physics videos in their free time, but I would honestly recommend learning about time from different disciplines: Law of Assumption, reality shifting, yogic tradition, non-dualism, etc. And for the scientifically inclined, mathematical, Newtonian physics, and quantum physics conceptualizations could be fascinating as well.
In my experience, so many different spiritual and scientific teachings are speaking to one element of the same greater truth, and it’s through exploring, learning, and being a curious student and scientist of this thing we call “reality” that’s helped me expand my perspective, develop new language for speaking about my experiences, as well as frameworks to understand them, and piece together my own understanding with the backing of ancient traditions and modern science.
My favorite resources:
Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza (a personal fave)
Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda (utterly life-changing)
The Law and the Promise by Neville Goddard (filled with great stories)
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle (I didn’t love this one, but it’s often highly recommended, so I’ll leave it here in case it serves you better than it did me)
Arvin Ash on YT (science stuff made simple)
(Note: all book links are paid links, but you can find free PDFs/audio recordings of many if that meets your needs better.)
Four. Trust Your Journey Over External Sources
All of that being said, what I will proclaim with my dying breath is to never outsource your authority to an external source. Your best guide is already with you and within you as the source of all knowing.
For as much as you ingest new theories and concepts, do not treat them as law. Do not blindly trust the words from any man’s mouth—only those from the mouth of God, the ultimate and only authority on the truth.
Be cautious of anyone trying to position themselves as a spiritual authority whose wisdom and teachings are necessary for your growth and development, especially if they’re selling something. Anyone worth their salt in this field knows that provision comes from God, not manipulating people into buying your products and services.
You are wiser than you realize, more capable than you give yourself credit for, and more supported than you know. It’s safe for you to trust the path of your evolution and that the right resources and support will appear for you when you’re ready and meant to receive them.
Living in the Echo of Your Future
Time isn’t just a straight line we march along. It’s a living, breathing web — one that your consciousness can move through more freely than you’ve been taught to believe. The more you clear the noise, the more you notice the threads pulling you forward, backward, and across timelines.
If you’ve been feeling foggy, pulled in too many directions, or unsure which version of you to listen to, clarity isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential. That’s why I’m creating The Clarity Cure, a free course on holding and sustaining an expanded state of clarity.
It’s not ready yet, but it’s coming soon. If you want to be the first to know when it’s out, you can join the waitlist here.
